Passion. Pride. Performance
Pull all three together and you can go a long way. That’s the hat-trick we’re working on right now at the Welsh Assembly Government. We call it ‘Working together for Wales’. This is critical in a complex, geographically dispersed organisation responsible for delivering policies and services which affect almost every aspect of life in Wales.
To help steer that delivery we’re looking for people who understand those three Ps – particularly Performance – really well.
People who:
• want the chance to put something back
• have the top-flight skills and experience we need to help us deliver results for people in Wales
• can commit around three working days a month to these very important roles
If you think you could be one of those people, we have a number of opportunities available:
Non Executive Director as part of the Permanent Secretary’s Strategic Delivery and Performance Board
Non Executive Members for the Corporate Governance Committees and for Departmental Corporate Governance Committees.
These roles aren’t about formulating policy. They are about making sure we’ve got high standards in place – both in management and systems – to get best value for the Welsh pound. They’re about helping us focus on what’s important, improving our efficiency and reducing complexity wherever we can.
Appointments will initially be for two years and you can expect a fee of approximately £350 per day plus travel expenses to recompense you for your time. The time commitment will differ depending on the appointment. You can find out more about the roles, the type of experience we’re looking for and get an application pack by e-mailing publicappointments@wales.gsi.gov.uk or by telephoning 029 2082 3576.
The closing date for applications is 20 November 2008
Go on – put a bit back for Wales
Equal Opportunities
All our appointments are based on equality of opportunity. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from under-represented groups. The principles of fair and equal competition will apply and appointments will be made on merit, with independent assessment, openness and transparency of process.
