NATHAN STEPHENS
From: Kenfig Hill, Bridgend
Age: 19
Discipline: discus, javelin and shot

There is no stopping Nathan Stephens. A key contender for the Beijing Paralympics, the Kenfig Hill teenager has already had a taste of what’s in store. He made his Paralympic debut at the 2006 Winter Paralympic Games in Turin as part of the GB sledge hockey team.

His athletics achievements are equally promising. The UWIC student is ranked number two in the world in disabled discus, javelin and shot-put.

In July 2006, he smashed the shot put under-20 World record with an impressive 11:12 metre throw at the IWAS World Junior Athletics Championships in Dublin. He took a second gold in the javelin and silver in the discus.
