BIOGRAPHY

Liz fulfilled her lifetime ambition by competing at the Paralympic Games in Athens. Winner of Princess of Diana Achievement Award 2000, named Caerphilly Disabled Sports Personality of the Year 99 & 01, and Newport Disabled Sports Personality of the Year 00 & 02.

Liz returned straight back from Athens to start University life in Swansea. Life for her has been made easier lately by the purchase of her first house, close to the Performance Centre at the Wales National Pool, Swansea where she trains under the watchful eye of Billy Pye.

All the hours of hard work has paid off for Liz, as she won Gold at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Durban. She collected 3 Gold Medals, with the highlight being the 100m Breaststroke where she broke the World Record as well. She also got 2 Golds in the Relay races, where they set a new World Record in the 4 × 50m Medley Relay.
