Maybe the success of an ex-schoolmate is rubbing off on Julie Hamzar. While the wheelchair shot put and pentathlon athlete was at St Cyres’ School, Penarth, she rubbed shoulders with Welsh legend Tanni Grey Thompson, and hopes to emulate her colleague’s medal-hoarding exploits. The duo also room-shared at the Commonwealth Games.
