Racing at the 2008 French Olympic Sailing Week

THERE’S NO DOUBTING THOMAS

The French Olympic Sailing Week in Hyeres saw sunshine and calmer conditions on Monday (21 April), with Bridgend sailor Stephen Thomas occupying a podium position after the second day of racing at this Grade 1 regatta.

Thomas, together with his Sonar team-mates John Robertson and Hannah Stodel, sit at the top of the leaderboard, having notched up a hat trick of race wins from their four races so far.

Having been named in the ParalympicsGB team, the trio are safe in the knowledge that they are Beijing-bound. And their preparations seem to be on course as they continue to show good pace in their new Sonar. However, they will have to watch out for the Norwegian crew of Jostein Stordahl, Per Eugen Kristiansen and Aleksander Wang-Hansen who are hot on their heels in second place.

Racing at the 2008 French Olympic Sailing Week continues through until Friday 25 April. For regatta news and information, visit www.skandiateamgbr.com
