Full Round-Up Of Todays Welsh Athletes in Action in BEIJING
In their respective table tennis quarter finals Britain’s women’s class 4-5 team of Welsh player Claire Robertson teamed up with Sue Gilroy to lose 3-0 to Serbia.
In the men’s quarters Britain’s class 3 team of Welsh player Neil Robinson and James Rawson beat Libya 3-0, while the class 6-8 team of Welsh player Paul Karabardak and Will Bayley were defeated 3-0 by China.
The sailing regatta in Qingdao finished with dissapointment for team GB. Our Welsh sailor Stephen Thomas fought hard alongside fellow sailors John Robertson and Hannah Stodel who finished sixth in the Sonar three-person keelboat, the same result they recorded in Athens four years ago.
Cycling hero Rachel Morris finished in sixth place in the individual hand cycling road race (HC A-C).
Morris, who won gold in the women’s individual time trial on Friday, could not maintain the fast pace set by winner Andrea Eskau of Germany.
Men’s 1km time trial champion Mark Bristow finished 24th in the LC1-2/CP4 road race, while welsh cyclist Simon Richardson finished 10th in the LC3-4/CP3 category.
WHATS OCCURING TOMORROW:-
Sundays action see’s Welsh favourite John Mcfall compete in round one of the 100m Sprint, followed by the semi final of the same event in the afternoon.
Tomorrows events will also see performances from fellow athletes:- sprinter Jenny Mcloughlin & Wheelchair Track athlete Brian Alldis.
