Great Win for GB Women as they defeat Brazil 61 – 29
The GB women’s team came out firing on all cylinders, as they crushed Brazil 61 – 29 in their second game on Day 3 of the basketball competition. Jumping out to a 9 point lead by the end of the first quarter, GB maintained the momentum to lead 26 – 18 at half time. The second half saw GB crush the Brazilians with 18 points scored in the third quarter, while conceding only 6. GB nearly matched this dominance in the final quarter, with 17 points scored and 5 conceded, to run out easy winners 61 – 29.
Floor shooting percentage for GB in the game was 43%, whilst limiting Brazil to 26%. Leading scorers for GB – Clare Strange 14, Helen Turner 12, Caroline Maclean 10 and Sally Wager 10.
