Athlete: Aled Davies

ALED SION-DAVIES
From: Bridgend
D.O.B: 24/05/91
Discipline: ambulant thrower – shot, discus, javelin

Aled Davies, 15, is the British Junior record holder in the discus and it came as no surprise when the class F44 youngster took gold in superior form at the World Junior Athletics Championships last year. In fact, Davies’ medal collection was positively beaming after the Dublin event where he won medals in every colour in the field events.

The Bridgend-based star secured silver in the javelin with a throw of 20:42 metres, only to supplement his collection with a bronze in the shot.

Davies is one of Disability Sport Wales’ upcoming young Academy athletes and with continued progression, will be one to watch for London 2012.
