Jane Coia
Jane is one of our newest directors to the board, beginning her role during February 2006.
Over the past fifteen years, Jane’s commitment to disability sport in Wales has been reflected in her role as a director of UKSAPLD and chair lady of WSAPLD. Her continued support of people with learning disabilities has provided access for athletes to compete in training and competitions throughout the UK and across the world.
Whilst working with Disability Sport Wales, Jane coached athletics from grass route level through to the Performance programme.
Jane’s experiences have included becoming GB and Wales`s Team Manager for athletes with a learning disability during numerous European and World Championships.
As Sports Coach UK Senior Tutor, Jane has specialised in providing various workshops such as Good Practice in Child Protection, Working with Disabled People and Coaching Disabled Performers to disability officers. Working with British Blind Sport, Welsh Athletics and CP Sport, Jane has supported athletes through funding processes, training/coaching and competitions.
Outside of the sporting world, Jane is a Service Manager at the Scope Skill Development Centre.
