Gareth John Chairman
Gareth has been the chairman of Disability Sport Wales for many years. Gareth’s experiences as chairman have lead him to witness the dramatic development of the organisation within the last five years. Gareth has travelled and worked with our athletes and believes they have a worldwide reputation for excellence. Gareth is particularly pleased with the launch of DSW’s new Academy and draws supporters attention to a host of up and coming athletes who are performing at a very high standard.
Gareth’s words of wisdom not only reflect upon our athletes, but every individual who has been involved with Disability Sport Wales at all levels,
“Success is not a matter of luck it has been as a result of a lot of hard work, not only by the athletes; but also by totally dedicated volunteers and our professional staff. Long may that formula continue!”
As well as Gareth’s commitment to DSW, Gareth is a director of the Welsh Sports Association and the Welsh Football Trust.
More recently, Gareth led Wales into Australia for the Commonwealth Games 2006. Gareth has maintained his role as Chairman of the Commonwealth Games Council during the run up to New Delhi in 2010.
