Executive Director

Jon Morgan

Jonathan (Jon) Morgan was appointed in 2001 as Executive Director for the Federation of Disability Sport Wales Ltd (FDSW). In his nine years Jon has seen the company develop from strength to strength.

Jon is responsible for leading the strategic development of pan-disability and paralympic sport within Wales, as well as advising the Sports Council for Wales and Welsh Assembly Government on future policy direction.

Jon is also a Director with both the British Paralympic Association and the British Paralympic Performances Services Ltd.

At the Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006, Jon was appointed as Athlete and Village Manager for Team Wales.

Prior to joining FDSW, Jon held the positions of:-

1999 – 2001 - Principle Leisure Officer for the City and County of Swansea

1995 – 1999 - Regional Development Officer, Sports Council for Wales

1990 – 1995 - Sports Development Officer for Rhymney Valley District Council.

1987 – 1990 - Leisure Centre Manager – District Leisure Centres, Rhymney Valley.

Jon is married with two children and lives in Swansea, South Wales. In his spare time Jon Chair’s a local pre-school Centre for children with a disability or emerging educational need, attempts to play 5-a-side football (poorly), watches a wide range of sports and acts as a taxi service for his kids!
